Le Scrawl - Q

1994; 23 tracks

Le Scrawl is German group of avant-garde musicians founded in 1989 that plays a variety of musical styles. Q is the band's 2nd CD and is full of extremely short tracks (the longest of which being 1:28). One might argue that it goes by so fast that it's difficult to say something really substantial about it, but it still has a lot to offer. Ska, grindcore, noise - very likeable.

Magrudergrind - Magrudergrind

I used to listen to a hell of a lot of grindcore and powerviolence back in the early years of my Last.fm. I was really into Nasum and Martyrdöd, but I came across some incredible stuff that I almost forgot about, like Magrudergrind. I'm on my old computer so it's all here for me to sift through... ANYWAY.

Magrudergrind is a grindcore/powerviolence group from District of Colombia. As a respected grindcore group who create meaningful and incredible music, Magrudergrind's self-titled is nearly unprecedented in the world of powerviolence. The first track might be my favorite grindcore track in the world, too.

Blood Freak - Multiplex Massacre

Razorback Records is one of the premier labels for newer bands paying tribute to old school death metal, and Blood Freak's third and most recent album, Multiplex Massacre, is no exception. Blood Freak is a one-man thrash/grind/death metal band led by horror mastermind Maniac Neil, of Frightmare and Lord Gore. Blood Freak plays a catchy brand of thrashing death metal with horror b-movie subject matter, something that should catch your interest should you be interested in bands such as Ghoul and Carcass. It's fucking greeeat.

This is one of the most beautiful powerviolence albums I've ever heard. From the beginning to the end it is a masterpiece.

M8L8TH - By the Wing of Black

2004; 8 tracks

I LOVE M8L8TH (which translates to "Hammer" in Russian). M8L8TH is a NSBM band from Russia whose perfection is unrivaled in the black metal scene. This album is beautiful and full of pure hatred. I love it more than even the band's 2009 release, Nepokolebimaja Vera (though it's still a great album too). Stand out tracks: Scum, Under the Falling Star, and By the Wing of Black. This album got a 100000/10 from me.
