Ancient Astronauts - Into Bass and Time
"Hard hip-hop, funky breakbeats, dub reggae, and late night smokers' trip-hop, Into Bass and Time brings it all."
Ancient Astronauts is a German hip-hop duo known for their futuristic approach to combining many different styles of beats and samples. It's not entirely instrumental, but when guest artists appear and such, the rapping is seriously top-notch. After just the first listen, I knew that this was one of the greatest albums of the year.

Pogo - Texturebox
I have been extremely obsessed with Pogo lately. He is Nick Bertke, an an emerging electronic music artist in Perth, Western Australia known for his work recording small sounds from a single film or scene and sequencing them to form a new piece of music. Many of the clips are from old Disney movies from when I was a little kid. *sigh*
Texturbox is his only full-length, and consequently his most recent release. Every single song on here is fucking amazing.

Sébastien Tellier - Sexuality
Here is an album that defies all previous understandings of sexuality. Tellier's music is flush with the facets of excitement, combining pure electronica with intimate lullabies. Sexuality is a "taste of fruit - very juicy and full of sugar." Sébastien Tellier is a French singer and song-writer of international fame, and this is his third album. His music is sensual without being vulgar, each track exploring Tellier's idea of sexuality further - he finds women's sportswear to be very sexy, and the only instrumental track, "Sexual Sportswear," is dedicated to that fantasy. This album contains beautiful downtempo / electronica with a mysterious sexual aura that is at once heartbreaking and perfect for dancing.
The beautiful "L'amour et la violence."
And "Look," another favorite!

Carbon Based Lifeforms Discography
Okay, so here we have one of my favorite ambient/electronic acts in the entire world. Carbon Based Lifeforms (CBL) are Johannes Hedberg and Daniel Segerstad, both born in 1976 and based in Sweden. There are several reasons why I love this group so much. First, the track titles are very interesting, 9/10 having to do with some scientific process or theory or other. Second, it is extremely relaxing to listen to, especially while falling asleep. World of Sleepers is my favorite. :)

Carbon Based Lifeforms came out with their 4th full-length album on May 3, 2010. It's much of the same things as their previous releases, but it is in no way a disappointment. CBL's distinctive psychill tracks are as calming as listening to waves on the shore, or the fall of rain. I really enjoyed this album and expect more great things to come from this Swedish electronic duo.

Burial & Four Tet - Moth/Wolf Club

There are two tracks on this beautiful collaboration: Moth and Wolf Club. More info and really great description here.I've known about this album for a while, but after seeing someone say that "Moth sounds like the party on the next flat over coming through the walls and onto your pillow" - I was like OMG I must hear this album again!! So I did, and I loved it again, and yeah. Beautifffuuullll wonderful album.
