Kunteynir is a Moscow-based collective of underground hip-hop artists (Техник, Блёв МС, Смешной) and  В Гавно is their second album.

It opens with the notes of Schubert's A-flat Impromptu, and from then on a terrifyingly brilliant mishmash of jazzy, abstract beats and lyrical accompaniment unfolds in a mesmerizing, nighttime-colored, fun-filled ride through a fuzzy alternate world. Cigarette smoke and shiny, expensive cars. Grease and sweat and filth. Classy streetfights and flickering lamps. Shadows of shivering trees and the rubbing of tennis shoe on pavement. Mystery all around.

This is an amazing album of hip-hop, rap, jazz, post-hardcore, and just free-styling awesomeness. Wu-Tang Clan provides (most of) the vocals to music by the legendary alternative/punk band Fugazi. I have never heard anything like this, but it was very well done.

De Jeugd Van Tegenwoordig - Parels Voor De Zwijnen

 2005; 20 tracks As gross and demeaning as the cover is, this album is really amazing. De Jeugd Van Tegenwoordig means "Kids These Days" in Dutch, and "Parels Voor De Zwijnen" means "Pearls Before Swine". This is the 1st full-length album from this popular hip-hop group, who admittedly doesn't take themselves (or their music) all that seriously.

P.O.S. - Never Better

 2009; 15 tracks

P.O.S. is rapper Stefon Alexander from Minnesota. His music can be described as alternative hip-hop, or punk-inspired rap (Stefon has credited the punk band Fugazi as a major influence). I just love P.O.S., no matter what. It's extremely brutal and yet lovely and poetic. Stand-out tracks: PUREXED (x 1000 ^ 1000).
