Lust for Youth / War - The Glass House Etiquette

2011; 2 tracks

Here is a split between Swedish lo-fi synth duo Lust For Youth and War, another fuzzy synth/post-punk that features members of the bands Iceage and Sexdrome. Both groups are signed to Posh Isolation (with LFY being also signed to Italian record label Avant!), a Danish underground label that releases music of a primarily dark, melancholic, harsh industrial and noisy variety.

Furry Things - The Big Saturday Illusion

1995; 11 tracks

This album is bees.

Furry Things was a shoegaze/noise pop founded by Kenneth James Gibson and Cathy Shive in 1992 who released a small number of albums and EPs throughout the 90s on the Trance Syndicate label (yay!).

I actually like what Last.fm has to say:

"Furry Things crafted the feedback-driven trance of The Big Saturday Illusion at the intersection of prog-rock, ambient music and acid jams. Its 'songs' were grotesque deconstructions of rock’n’roll that twitch under clouds of swirling drones."

True Widow - I.N.O. EP

2011; 5 tracks

I.N.O. is one of the greatest new discoveries for me. It feels like being submerged in an ocean of some thick, heavy, and infinitely sweet substance. It makes me feel at home. "Bathyscaphe" is my new definition of perfection.

Cosmonauts Hail Satan - Hellraiser & Cape Cannibal Skull Island Apocalypse

1993; 2 tracks

1998; 12 tracks

Here are two releases by the mysterious 90s noise rock outfit Cosmonauts Hail Satan. Hellraiser was two tracks dedicated to the first Hellraiser film and "Coil's shamefully unused soundtrack." I'm not sure how well these would have worked with the film, but one can speculate. Cape Cannibal Skull Island Apocalypse was their final work, a compilation of sorts, featuring my favorite track, "Serious Business."
